Accounting and

Communications Manager


Basic Function

The Accounting and Technology Manager position creates financial transactions and creates financial reports from that information. The creation of financial transactions includes posting information to accounting journals or accounting software from such source documents as invoices to customers, cash receipts, and supplier invoices. The position will also support in digital communications development including social media, website updates, and email strategies to grow the online business segment.  The successful candidate will be hands-on and will be a part of an internal team by contributing in the following areas: accounting, business planning and budgeting, human resources, and IT administration.

Responsibilities

  • Purchase supplies and equipment as authorized by management
  • Monitor office supply levels and reorder as necessary
  • Tag and monitor fixed assets
  • Pay supplier invoices in a timely manner
  • Take all reasonable discounts on supplier invoices
  • Pay any debt as it comes due for payment
  • Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
  • Issue invoices to customers
  • Collect sales taxes from customers and remit them to the government
  • Ensure that receivables are collected promptly
  • Record cash receipts and make bank deposits
  • Conduct a monthly reconciliation of every bank account
  • Conduct periodic reconciliations of all accounts to ensure their accuracy
  • Maintain the petty cash fund
  • Provide information to the external accountant who creates the company’s financial statements
  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
  • Maintain the chart of accounts
  • Maintain the annual budget
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to management as requested
  • Collate financial reporting materials for monthly partner meetings, and support all accounting/reporting.
  • Process payroll using Quickbooks and maintain timely filing of all payroll related forms.
  • Management of accounts payable via QuickBooks and maintaining all related records
  • IT infrastructure planning and development including hardware and POS software integration.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum of Associates Degree in Business or related degree, ideally with Bachelor’s in Business or related degree
  • Experience using QuickBooks and technical savvy to manage finances electronically
  • The ability to wear many hats in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of vendors and customers
  • Self-starter, self disciplined
  • Spark, imagination, creativity
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a sincere love of music

Compensation Package  

Competitive salary based on education and experience.  Range is $12-$14/hour.
